How do you guys think Elizabeth might have turned out if Anne had lived to raise her? In a way, I'm glad Anne wasn't around. I think her paranoid greediness would have corrupted Elizabeth. She would have brought out the Howard in Elizabeth and not the Tudor. She may have even actively sought out to dethrone Edward or Mary I think. From what I've read, I'm glad most the Boleyns and Howards were knocked down with Anne's fall - well, the Howards were for awhile anyway.

Also, a slighlty OT question: Would Henry have stayed with Katherine if she bared him if their son had lived? Would he have been happy with just two children? Would the pressure of having already one son made her less stressful and worried, causing her body to handle more pregnancies?

Sorry, I've been reading HENRY VIII: THE KING AND HIS COURT by Alison Weir. Good stuff!

Ooh, that's an interesting point. I agree Henry would have lusted after Anne and Jane and whoever, but his main goal was a male heir. If he had had one with Katherine would he have divorced her for Anne anyway? Would he have disinherited his son then? We may have ended up with another war if Anne had had a son then as well. Or Elizabeth would have just been more vunerable to assassination.
